2000 July 18 Tuesday
"Do I make the right decision?" I ask myself as I get off the bus at Port Authority this morning.
Even after making the decision, I still debate whether to take the advertising gig at Young & Rubicam in New York City or to go back to Brigham Young University for a master's degree.
I am a master of indecision. Cognitive dissonance imprisons me at every deadline.
I spend only 25 cents today and that for a banana. I also take two muffins.
"I must be the only one who's here for the food," I joke as I finish my second plate of carrot sticks, French fries, mozzarella sticks and onion rings downstairs at Patrick Conroy's Irish pub. Since the drinks are on our department chair Dot Giannone, I drink two oranges juices and two 7 Ups. 7 Up is an agency client.
I'm different, and people are still so nice to me.
"Yes, I make the right decision," I respond to my earlier inquiry as I get on the bus at Port Authority this evening.
