"You'd make a wonderful husband," Christine Mitton comments, and I'm complimented.
I wash the sheets Monday morning in hopes of having them dry for their Tuesday morning arrival. Nice try: my machine takes forever to dry.
Following my directions, Alexia and Christine find the apartment.
I want to take them to South Street Seaport. They want to eat at Wendy's on Fulton Street.
We talk in the train and take it too far in two directions. I talk to Alexia about our high school class, about who ends up with whom. I wonder if, after all, I'll end up with her.
She's the first girl I ever ask out. What if she were the last? Maybe the 16-year-old me knows something.
We watch Friends. Alexia's a New Yorker, you know, after serving in the New York New York South Mission.
They sail on my raft (my air mattress). I sleep on the shore (the floor).
I don't see them this morning, so I don't kiss them goodbye.
Kate Holcomb, Kristin and Marybeth are out of the office. Kristin and Marybeth fly to Los Angeles for the Survivor finale. I see the number-one series for the first time tonight. Our Ericsson spot (commercial) airs immediately after the conclusion, which excites me.
I almost have a heart attack, however, as I think it's the wrong spot, which would be my fault.
I, I will survive.
