2001 September 14 Friday Memorial
I go to a memorial service at noon at church at Lincoln Square.
I have an afternoon breakfast with Collette Harrell, Amy Howell and some other friends.
I go back to work until 8.
I live, I work unaffected.
I don't watch TV for two days.
I go to an evening vigil at Union Square.
Then I go to a screening at NYU hosted by Joe Gabriel. It's black and white. I go not for the film but for the friends.
I read the New York Times on my Palm, and I weep silently in the darkened room. Three days after 9/11, I shed the first of what will be many tears over many years from the tragedy.
